I got wind of this project quite awhile ago from MAF producer Matt Peters. I bookmarked it and visited it from time to time for updates. A few weeks ago I saw a notice that they were doing auditions and gave it a shot. I actually had to go back for a follow up audition, as I was neck in neck for the part with a talented actor. Luckily I managed to get the part and here I am 🙂
-We filmed this scene at The Comic Shop in Oswego, NY-a place I’d ironically been to before a number of times in the past so it was easy for me to find. Call time was 6:30 AM. I arrived at 6:35-but I wasn’t the last one there-surprise! 🙂
-Things got set up and we went thru the shot list. One interesting challenge for both me and Jody P. was were had to play the game while going thru the scene. This was the first time either of us had ever even seen the game, much less played it. As all you movie people know, when shooting scenes, the pieces not only had to be at the same place for each take, but put on the board in the same order. This was a little tricky but we got thru it. Cast & crew here were great to work with and we had a fun atmosphere going. Jody had to get done first cause he was filming on another project this same day so all his stuff got done first. It didn’t take too long afterwards to finish me up.
-My 2nd day of filming on this is scheduled for Wednesday. Looking forward to making it happen and getting things done. Pics are now up on my acting page on Facebook.
-Earlier in the week I was given a heads up by AMS MODELS AND TALENT about an audition for a student film at SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY so I went up there and had a meeting with Michael Sunderlin & Iara Rogers. It was fun-especially doing a video audition in a public cafe :)….I was then contacted on Friday 11/1 and told I got the part and that they wanted to me to film the next morning, just as I was walking out to go do my last day at Booville in B’ville. There wasn’t too many lines in the scenes so I wasn’t worried-just hoped that I wouldn’t fall asleep while filming 🙂
-I arrived and met the rest of the cast and crew and we got to work on the scenes. Originally they asked if the battle wagon could be used, but the driver window isn’t functional-so much for that! I got to use my “daughter’s” vehicle-always nice to drive a vehicle from the 21st Century 🙂 The actress playing my daughter, Rachel Moore, could actually pass as my daughter…damn, now I feel old… 🙂
-Like I said earlier, we got stuff done quickly and I was on the road an hour later for another audition. I have another day of filming w/ them to do for the most part, which should be soon. All of the cast & crew were very great to work with and I’m glad I was able to help them out. Pics are now up on my acting page on Facebook.
-I’ve been a little lax when it comes to updating in here what’s been happening but I’ll do a basic sum up of my time at BOOVILLE.
-There were 3 haunted houses in Booville-The Cage, The Attic & The Incinerator. For the most part, I was in The Attic. My station was usually at the end where I appear from behind a door disguised as a wall. Basically one last scare before people left. This was right next to the station in The Incinerator where the chainsaw guy “attacks” people-good thing that was closest to my deaf ear…. One time in The Attic I basically roamed the 2nd half of it as a set up for the other monsters (people would be distracted by me and then the other monsters would suddenly appear). I forgot my flashlight this night and, as a result, I slammed into the walls of the maze several times so yes, I can relate to what people went thru there :)…Another night in The Attic, I was in this dark room towards the start with constant strobes going on. between that and the fog, things could get disoriented at times. When I got the timing right, I could get some people real good. I freaked out this one woman and after a quick recover, punched me in the chest! Not too hard though…
-My last night there they were short of people so I was put towards the start of The Incinerator-near a small maze that had a chain link fence on one side. Instead of one “hit” like in The Attic, I now had to do 3 or 4 per run. As you can see via the pics, one time I got a little too into it (as I’m prone to do) when throwing myself against the fence. As a result, my head hit the fence as well. The Horace mask is made of fiberglass with no padding on the inside so that left a mark for awhile…and I had to do filming the next morning. I also got caught on something which left a nice red mark on my ribs. Between the strobes, darkness, fog and constant banging, there was a lot of disorientation. One woman walked right by me and walked right into a wall. 🙂
-Those of you who went to SWAMP ROAD TERROR last year may recall the doll I carried around while making my rounds. It had a lot of character but I didn’t see her this year so during my 2nd weekend I found “Headly” who got a better reaction than the power drill I was wielding the first week. “Headly” also proved to be quite the lady killer at times 🙂
-I also took part where the “Welcome to Baldwinsville” sign was temp. replaced by “Welcome to Booville”, as well as the mayor of Baldwinsville officially opening Booville. I was also working when 3 of the bands played there-POUR WHYTE TRASH, KAT TALE & UNDER THE GUN. A lot of fun and a lot of hard work was done with all the days on here. I’m glad to have the opportunity to work with a great group of people here and looking forward to seeing what they’ll be coming up with for next year. -I received word earlier today that I have been cast as the supporting role of “Hunter” in the short / student film “Briarwood.” This will be filming this Nov. in CNY. Check out their page at the link below.

-SUNDAY 2-5 we celebrate our final kids day with activities for the little ones including face painting, balloon artists, a bounce house obstacle course and the special one time only luncheon with your favorite Booville buddies called the BEAST FEAST.
-The character Horace Merkins, who I played in the film THE DOLLMAKER, will be here as well. It may or may not be me playing him though 🙂 Check out their page and come on down! 🙂

I can officially announce now that I have been cast in the role of Captain James T. Morris is the feature film “Slade Collins 2: In & Out of Time” by MAD ANGEL FILMS. As some of you may recall, I played the role of “General Czar” in the first Slade film. There currently isn’t a FB page for Slade 2 but there is one for Slade 1.
