-On September 23-25, I spent three days working on the vocals for the debut album for MK ULTRA SONICS – a new Hard Rock band from Syracuse, NY. (Yes, I’m still doing CAROLINE BLUE). Recording was done at MORE SOUND RECORDING STUDIOS. The first day was spent going thru “scratch” versions of the songs – although you want to do each one like it would be the final take. W have ten songs (eleven in a way, but two of them merge into one song so…). In addition, the drums were the focus on this day. We got the scratch versions of all but two of the songs down on the first day. On day two, we finished the remaining two and the focus was on getting the bass and guitars down. Day three was the big day for me – vocals. I got thru half of them, but only cause the first few hours were still on guitars so…It was a great experience for me and I learned a lot. One interesting note was that I told our producer, Jason “Jocko” Randall that I had the ability to do something – which probably came off like I was bragging. The thing is, I proved it and – in the end- got complimented on how focused I could be. Why so vague? Maybe it’s being saved for “WAYNE – THE BOOK” – coming soon to a place where better products are sold (HA!). IT was hard work, but I’m glad I did it and can’t wait for y’all to hear it. We have another session or two to finish up vocals and then it’s onto mixing, then mastering.
